Welcome to SHE 4 Change Foundation, where we are dedicated to empowering marginalized rural communities through education, mentorship, advocacy, entrepreneurship, and financial inclusion. Our vision is to create a world where every individual has equal opportunities to thrive and reach their full potential. With a holistic approach to empowerment, we strive to address the barriers that prevent people especially girls and women from flourishing long-term, including limited access to education, lack of formal employment, and the effects of climate change. We aim to make a positive and sustainable impact by leveraging our global network of partners, donors, and volunteers.
We believe in creating a world where poverty and inequality no longer exist, and every individual has equal opportunities to thrive. Our vision is to create a world where marginalized individuals especially women and children in rural communities are empowered and given equal opportunities to thrive.
At SHE 4 Change, we believe in addressing the root causes of poverty and inequality by providing sustainable solutions. Our programs are designed to uplift individuals and communities, equipping them with the necessary skills, resources, and support to build a better future.
SHE 4 Change Foundation was founded by Patricia Quaye, a passionate advocate for youth and women’s empowerment and community development. Patricia’s own journey inspired her to create an organization that addresses the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities.
With a vision for a more equitable and sustainable future, SHE 4 Change Foundation was established to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals and communities.
SHE 4 Change Foundation was established with a strong belief that all individuals especially girls and women deserve more than just survival; they deserve to flourish. Our journey began with a passion for social justice, sustainability, and transparency. We embrace diversity, collaboration, innovation, empathy, excellence, and continuous learning to create meaningful and sustainable change.
MEANING OF OUR NAME “SHE” 4 CHANGE AND THE LOGO
The full meaning of SHE is ‘Support Her/His Empowerment’.
SHE 4 change was born out of the belief that empowering and lifting someone especially women out of poverty could literally change the world. Our purpose is directly communicated in the name SHE – Support His/Her Empowerment.
Through our mission, SHE will not only create an amazing culture and community, but we will also create impactful programs. The SHE model reflects the hope that comes from opportunity.
THE COLOURS : The gold color conveys a happy or cheerful fun, friendly and warm image.

- E – EMPOWERMENT which is also a representation of the Sankofa symbol
Sankofa is an African word from the Akan tribe in Ghana. The literal translation of the word and the symbol is “it is not a taboo to fetch what is at risk of being left behind.” The word is derived from the words:
- SAN (return),
- KO (go),
- And FA (look, seek and take).
Why the Symbol was incorporated into our logo
The incorporation of the Symbol into our logo holds deep significance. SHE represents a true embodiment of the adinkra symbol called Sankofa. Just like the symbol itself, our founder is embracing the essence of Sankofa by returning to her roots and dedicating herself to uplift marginalized and underserved communities, particularly the one she grew up in.
She recognizes the importance of not leaving anyone behind, especially women, children and youth from low-income and educational backgrounds who are at risk of being trapped in generational poverty. Through programs like SHE 4 Change, she empowers them to break free from the cycles of poverty.
Reflecting on her journey from humble beginnings to where she stands today, she realized the need for a better way to create positive change. She pondered on who would step up and forge a better path to uplift people from these challenging circumstances. It was during this pursuit of a solution that she realized she needed to become the catalyst for change. She consistently seeks out opportunities to create a brighter future for her community and beyond. Her approach involves leveraging her skills, experiences, and resources to elevate and empower individuals, particularly women and children.
In summary, the Symbol in our logo represents the embodiment of Sankofa and signifies our commitment to uplift marginalized communities, break the cycle of poverty, and celebrate and support our cultural heritage.
